The 6-year-old Dizzy Dean baseball teams from Guntersville and Arab will both be in the state tournament this weekend in Madison.

Each won at least 2 games in the Dizzy Dean district tournament at Jackson Park in Guntersville last Saturday.

The teams met in the semi-finals. 6-and-under baseball is coach pitch and the bats tend to get very hot in this league. Arab beat Guntersville 25-15.

The coaches have been working these little guys hard and they're better baseball players than their age might indicate. They were swatting balls into the outfield and also slinging the ball around the infield and throwing runners out at first.

The coaches are planning to practice hard this week to get ready for state and hopefully make a good showing.

The accompanying photos show some of the action from the Arab-Guntersville game.
