He was a beloved son, grandson, nephew and father. David Isaiah Ellis, of Guntersville, was shot and killed in his aunt’s yard on Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was just 30 years old.
Zachary Strickland has been charged with murder in his death.
He was born January 5, 1992, in Guntersville, Alabama, to Ms. Alesia Love and Mr. David Lampley.
Isaiah confessed Christ at the early age of 7 years old at Lake City Assembly of God, under Rev. Stan Broadus. He loved swimming, movies and enjoying family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Alesia NeSmith and his patient and thoughtful stepfather Cecil NeSmith and his father Mr. David Lampley; his beautiful children, son Preston Wade, daughters Aubree Lashae and Trinity; a sister, Miss Ayanna Lampley; loving grandparents, Mr. Willie and Mary Ella Ellis; two dedicated aunts, Mrs. Pamela Horton (Mike) of Gadsden, and Miss Latonya Ellis of Guntersville; also loving aunts Lois Robinson, Mrs. Juanita, Mrs. Yvonne, Mrs. Edna and Beverly, formerly of Montgomery.
Isaiah was preceded in death by one very special uncle, Mr. Roderick Lee Ellis, and 3 uncles from Montgomery, Mr. Floyd Lampley, Mr. Nate Lampley Sr. and Mr. Billy Lampley.
The funeral was Tuesday, March 8, at Guntersville Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Warrenton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Travis Moore, Hakeem Ellis, Tyler Ellis, Dustin Ellis, Aaron Banks, Opalis Watkins, Brent Avery, Patrick Wiggs and Adam Hollis. Flower rils were extended family and friends.
The family thanks all the loving and dear friends for the acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. A very special thanks to Pastor Steven Swords, Judge Clint Maze and Pastor Sterling.
