To the Advertiser-Gleam:

I am writing in support of the proposed property tax increase for the city school system.

I am supporting this increase primarily for two reasons: I have two grandchildren in the school system and the current high school is functionally obsolete and over capacity.

I support the use of these additional monies for constructing and maintaining school buildings. Too often maintenance is overlooked and the restriction on these funds to be used only for building and maintenance is very positive.

I am a firm believer is stewardship - that is leaving the world a better place. The education of our children is an obligation for us all.
