Brandon Fussell

Brandon Fussell led the Wildcats with 21 points against Buckhorn.

Guntersville’s varsity boys’ game with Arab Tuesday night was cancelled by the Knights due to COVID-19 concerns. The Wildcats were able to fill the spot with Class 6A Buckhorn.

The Wildcats aren’t very familiar with the Bucks from Madison County but it didn’t matter all that much as they came away with a 74-56 win. Guntersville is now 18-3 on the season.

Guntersville picked up another game with Class 7A Huntsville last night (Friday) before traveling to Boaz this Tuesday.

Against Buckhorn, Brandon Fussell led the way with 21 points and Cooper Davidson was right behind him with 20 points. Jerrell Williamson added 10 points and Jack Harris had seven.

After the Huntsville game last night, the Wildcats now have just two games left until the area tournament begins on Feb. 12 at home.
