The DAR Patriots visited the New Hope Indians last Thursday for the first time as region opponents. New Hope made the jump from 3A to 4A this season.
The Indians got off to a fast start on their way to a 44-28 win over the Patriots. With the loss, DAR fell to 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in Class 4A Region 7. With the win, New Hope improved to 4-3 and 2-3.
The Patriots dug themselves a deep hole allowing three 1st quarter touchdowns. New Hope's Dylan Selvage scored on a 50-yard run followed by touchdown runs of 56 yards and 1 yard to give the Indians a 21-0 lead after the opening quarter.
The Patriots put together a good drive early in the 2nd quarter going 80 yards in 7 plays scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run by Cameron Lindsay to trim the deficit to 21-6.
The Indians needed just one play to extend their lead to 28-6 on a 60-yard touchdown run by Beebee Devine.
DAR scored again later in the 2nd quarter when Lindsay connected with Blake Tandy for a 26-yard touchdown pass. Lindsay ran in the 2-point conversion to make the score 28-14 at the half.
New Hope opened the 3rd quarter scoring with 23-yard touchdown run by Devine to increase the lead to 35-14.
The Patriots responded late in the 3rd quarter with a 64-yard touchdown run by Brady Largen to make the score 35-20 after three.
The Indians added a 1-yard touchdown run by Selvage and a safety to stretch the margin to 44-20 with 10:47 to go in the game.
With 12 seconds remaining in the contest, Largen scored on a 6-yard run as well as the 2-point conversion for the final points of the evening.
Lindsay finished the night completing 16 of 28 passes for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns while rushing for another score. Largen rushed for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns on 8 carries and set up another score with a 38-yard reception. Tandy caught 6 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. Tay Stewart had 5 receptions for 62 yards and also recorded an interception on defense.

The Patriots will host the Madison County Tigers this week in another region game. Kickoff is scheduled for Friday night at 7:00 and will be the last regular season home game for DAR.
