Olivia Vandergriff works against a Boaz defender Tuesday night.

The Guntersville Lady Wildcats suffered a road loss Tuesday night at Boaz by a score of 39-38.

Only three players were able to find their way onto the score sheet for Guntersville against the Lady Pirates.

Olivia Vandergriff and Jayden Watkins had 13 points each and Tazi Harris added 12. The Lady Wildcats usually have several in the scoring column each game but it wasn’t to be on this particular night.

The Lady Pirates led at the end of every quarter except the third Tuesday night. Boaz went into the locker room up 22-17 at the half but had the game tied at 28-28 at the end of the third. Boaz would go on to outscore Guntersville 11-10 in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Wildcats went 6-1 this season in Marshall County play and 21-6 overall. They took on Etowah last night (Friday) in the final regular season game of the season. Sarah Campbell, Heavenly Hundley, Landon Phillips and Jayden Watkins were honored during the senior night festivities.

The Lady Wildcats will take on the winner of the Brewer vs. Fairview game Thursday night for the area championship.
