The Snead State baseball team is riding a four-game win streak before a small break as the Parsons are now 16-10 going into April.
On Saturday, March 20, the Parsons went on the road and defeated Bevill State twice in one day as the two teams squared off in a double header.
In the first game, Snead won big 8-1. Cooper Self had one hit and one RBI. Brooks Tolbert pitched all seven innings for the Parsons recording nine strikeouts and gave up just three hits.
The Parsons won by a slightly bigger margin in the second game 9-1. Self had one RBI in the game and a trio of pitchers took the mound for the Parsons. Jack Wynn pitched four innings and struck out 10 batters. Edward Patterson and Milton Cuyler finished out the game for Snead.
The two teams then played another double header at Snead last Monday. In the first meeting, Snead won 5-3. Self had one hit and one RBI in the game. Nick Pounders pitched six innings and struck out six batters.
The second game wasn’t as close as Snead won 10-2. Self scored one run in the game. Self, the former Guntersville Wildcat, is now batting .371 for the season at Snead.
The Parsons next games will be tomorrow (Thursday) at home against Southern Union at 12 p.m. and again at 2 p.m.
