The Snead State men’s baseball team has been on quite a run for the month of April winning 13 of its last 16 games.
On Thursday, the Parsons took on Lawson State in a double header on the road. They will return home today (Saturday) to face Lawson State in another double header for the final two games of the regular season.
Snead took on Calhoun in four consecutive games last week and won all four. On April 22, the Parson hosted Calhoun in a double header. They won 9-6 with Brooks Tolbert pitching 5 and a half innings, striking out seven and giving up seven hits. Michael Myers pitched the final inning striking out three.
Former Guntersville Wildcat Cooper Self scored one run in the game.
The second game in the double header wasn’t nearly as close. Snead won 14-4 scoring 10 runs in the 5th inning. Self had a huge game scoring three runs and batting in five more.
Last Sunday, Snead traveled to Calhoun and picked up another pair of wins. The Parsons won the first game 8-2. Self scored two runs and batted two more home.
The Parsons won the second game 6-3. Again, Self had another big game at the plate scoring one run and recording an RBI.
Self now has nine home runs, 44 RBI and 34 runs scored on the season for Snead. He’s batting .407 for the season.
