With a dominant 10-0 victory over Douglas, the Guntersville boys’ varsity soccer team improved its record to 9-0-2.

The Wildcats hosted Douglas Tuesday night in another area match. They just took on area foe Boaz the Thursday before.

Guntersville started the scoring off early and often. Ryan McCartney scored the first goal for Guntersville in the sixth minute and he Wildcats never looked back.

A.J. Shumate led the way with four goals, McCartney had two, Ryan Oswalt, Colin Gann and Jose Tranquini all had one goal.

The Wildcats traveled to Auburn over the weekend to play in the Battle at the Border varsity boys’ tournament. They are currently ranked No. 3 in Class 4A/5A.
