The Marshall County track and field meet was held this past Tuesday on the campus of Guntersville High School.

Arab won both the boys’ and girls’ overall championship while Guntersville’s Jayden Watkins and Dewayne Hundley were named girls and boys MVP. Guntersville’s track and field coach Chris Bashaw was named Coach of the Year as well.

A total of seven teams from across Marshall County participated in the annual meet. Guntersville had several top finishers. Watkins finished 1st in the 100-meter and 200-meter and 2nd in the high jump and triple jump.

Kenlie Nelson finished 1st in the 1600-meter and 2nd in the 800-meter. Jadyn Bonds finished 1st in the high jump and Anna Waldrop was 1st in the shotput.

Hundley placed 1st in the 200-meter, 400-meter, the high jump and the long jump. William Barkley finished 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles while girls’ 4x400 team and boys 4x400 team finished 1st.
