It has been an interesting year to say the least with The Advertiser-Gleam’s Pick Em football contest.

Morri Yancy won the “regular season” round of Pick Em, the portion of the season that ran through the end of the regular high school season.

Mayor Leigh Dollar and J.D. Cagle were the runners-up.

Then in the “playoff” round, the portion of the season covering the high school playoffs and the end of the regular college season, Joe Cagle and Mayor Leigh Dollar tied for the title.

The mayor was the overall winner when both the regular season and playoff season were combined.

In the “bowl” edition for the New Year’s bowls and the College Football Championship semi-finals, Joe Cagle and Wright Ross tied for the top with 8-2 records each.

The Sugar Bowl tripped them up and just about everyone else as it wasn’t much of a game once Ole Miss’ Matt Corrall went down. Wright stumbled in the Arkansas-Penn State game, picking Penn State. Joe stumbled in the Michigan State-Pitt game picking Pitt.

Here’s how all the pickers fared in the Bowl Edition:

Wright Ross 8-2

Joe Cagle 8-2

Norman Bonds 7-3

Leigh Dollar 7-3

West Long 7-3

JD Cagle 6-4

Morri Yancy 5-5
